Workly ("we", "our", or "the app") is a work-hours tracking application.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it,
and your rights regarding your data. By using Workly, you agree to the
practices described below.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide the app's features:
Work records — shift dates, hours worked, overtime,
day type (regular / weekend / holiday), notes, and optional photos
you attach to a record.
Salary configuration — base salary, hourly rate, and
overtime multipliers you enter in the app. These are stored locally on
your device.
Account information — if you sign in with Google or
Apple, we receive your name and email address from those providers
solely to identify your cloud backup.
Device locale — your device's region setting is read
once at startup to look up local public holidays automatically. It is
not stored or transmitted independently.
2. How We Use Your Information
To display your work records and calculate salary summaries.
To sync your data across devices via Firebase cloud backup
(only when you are signed in and initiate a backup).
To fetch public holiday data for your region from third-party APIs
(Nager.Date and Calendarific) so the app can highlight holidays on
the calendar.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with
advertisers or any third party for marketing purposes.
3. Data Storage
Local storage — all work records and settings are
stored in a local SQLite database on your device. This data stays on
your device unless you choose to back it up.
Cloud backup — when you sign in and use the backup
feature, your records are encrypted in transit and stored in
Google Firebase Firestore under your account. You can delete this
backup at any time from the app.
Photos — photos attached to records are stored
locally on your device and, if backup is enabled, uploaded to
Firebase Storage under your account.
4. Third-Party Services
Workly integrates with the following third-party services. Each has its
own privacy policy:
Local data remains on your device until you uninstall the app or delete
a record manually. Cloud backup data is retained until you delete it
from the app or delete your account. We do not retain any data on our
own servers.
6. Your Rights
Access — all your data is visible directly in the app.
Delete local data — uninstall the app or delete
individual records from within the app.
Delete cloud data — use the "Delete Backup" option in
the app, or contact us and we will delete it for you.
Sign out — signing out stops any further cloud sync.
Local data is not affected.
7. Children's Privacy
Workly is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect
personal information from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated"
date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of
the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated
policy.
