Workly ("we", "our", or "the app") is a work-hours tracking application.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it,
and your rights regarding your data. By using Workly, you agree to the
practices described below.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide the app's features:
Work records - shift dates, hours worked, overtime, day type, notes, and optional photos you attach to a record.
Salary configuration - base salary, hourly rate, overtime rules, allowances, and deductions you enter in the app.
Account information - if you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address solely to identify your cloud backup.
Device locale - your device region may be used to look up local public holidays. It is not stored or transmitted independently.
2. How We Use Your Information
To display your work records and calculate work-hour and salary summaries.
To sync your data across devices via Firebase cloud backup when you are signed in and choose to use backup or restore features.
To fetch public holiday data for your region from third-party APIs so the app can highlight holidays on the calendar.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or any third party for marketing purposes.
3. Data Storage
Local storage - work records and settings are stored in a local SQLite database on your device unless you choose to back them up.
Cloud backup - when you sign in and use backup features, your records are encrypted in transit and stored in Google Firebase under your account.
Photos - photos attached to records are stored locally and, if backup is enabled, uploaded to Firebase Storage under your account.
4. Third-Party Services
Workly integrates with the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy:
Local data remains on your device until you uninstall the app or delete it manually. Cloud backup data is retained until you delete it from the app or request deletion. We do not retain your work records on our own servers.
6. Your Rights
Access - your data is visible directly in the app.
Delete local data - uninstall the app or delete individual records from within the app.
Delete cloud data - use the delete backup option in the app, or contact us and we will help delete it.
Sign out - signing out stops further cloud sync. Local data is not affected.
7. Children's Privacy
Workly is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes.
